Anuradhapura was the centre of Sri Lankan civilisation for centuries and remains one of the island's most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites.

The early morning atmosphere offers a different perspective from a conventional daytime visit — quieter pathways, softer light and an opportunity to experience the spiritual character of the ancient city.
