Step into a traditional weaving environment and discover the patience, skill and precision behind Sri Lanka's handloom textiles.

Watch as individual threads are transformed into intricate patterns on a traditional loom, then try the technique yourself under the guidance of a local weaver. Depending on the workshop, you may also discover how colours, motifs and patterns are selected for different types of traditional fabric.

This is an intimate way to encounter an important part of Sri Lanka's living craft heritage — not simply as something displayed in a shop, but as a skill still practised by local families and artisans.
